African-American Book Clubs
Welcome to the Book Club list. With the demise of so many Bookstores it becomes increasingly challenging for Authors to get out the word about the new books they have written. Authors and Publishers are now looking to connect with Book Clubs to announce their new books. Literary Event planners may find this list helpful when trying to tell the community about your local upcoming Author event
These African American Book Club members are most likely to read Black Literature books, and most likely to attend an event where they will meet your local Authors, but they can be a difficult group to find.
As a Librarian, I take my role of providing access to information seriously so I hope this list of Book Clubs will provide greater access to Book Clubs.
There are national Book Clubs with websites, Facebook pages and blogs like:
Go On Girl! Book Club
Sisters Sippin' Tea
Rawsistaz Literary Group
But many more Book Clubs are just some friends who get together at each others' homes to relax, talk about the book they have read and eat. To be helpful to our Literary community I am publishing this free list of those Book Clubs that I have found.
I hope this list of 200+ will grow so that everyone can expand their mailing lists. If you see that I am missing your Book Club, and you are independent, please let me know so that you can be added. If your Book Club no longer meets and should be removed, please let me know that as well and it will be removed.
I will send my list of Literary Sisters Travel Events to this list monthly so I will be able to keep it current. However, your help with that will be much appreciated.
