Aviva Travel Group Trip to Rome, Sorento & the Amalfi Coast

I am excited to be once again be working with the excellent team at Perillo Tours on Italy, one of the most popular destinations in Europe. We always have a great time in Italy. Take a look at this itinerary and I hope you will want to join this lovely . I have taken care of the details so you can relax and only focus on having a great time.
Again, a small group, about 15 women will be traveling, no crowds, and you take plenty of time to really explore the cities you visitexperience. The registration form is available for download on the top right column of this page. Let me know if you need a roommate.
Day 1
Boarding our overnight flight, we are off to Italy on the adventure of a lifetime!
Day 2 – Arrive to Rome airport – Welcome Dinner
Benvenuti a Roma! We will bet met at Rome airport and transferred to our hotel, the Hotel Dei Mellini. Enjoy some free time this afternoon - take a walk on Via Veneto, have a gelato or maybe do some shopping.
Welcome dinner at the local restaurant near hotel. Overnight in Rome for 4 nights
Day 3 - Rome – Morning: Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's
This morning, it’s a 5-minute drive to another country – Vatican City! With our expert local guide we’ll tour the Vatican Museums, a treasure trove of ancient Greek sculptures, medieval tapestries and Renaissance paintings. Our visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, the room where the Pope is elected. Next we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, by far the largest church in Christendom. We’ll see Michelangelo’s Pieta, sculpted when he was just 24, as well as Bernini’s seven-story bronze canopy located above the main altar.
Return to hotel and free afternoon.
Day 4 - Rome – Full Day Tour to Florence by Train – Academia of Arts
This morning take a high speed train and in 1h30min you will arrive to Florence. it’s an enjoyable ride through the Tuscan countryside: the rolling hills, scenic vineyards and postcard perfect vistas of Tuscany. Upon arrival meet your local guide and explore Renaissance city of Dante, Boccaccio, Botticelli and Da Vinci! Walk you through its historic center, elegant Uffizi Square, Ponte Vechhio, the imposing Duomo and the Accademia Gallery with Michelangelo’s David.
Free time in Florence on your own. Take high speed train back to Rome, arriving late evening.
Day 5 – Rome – Roman Countryside with wine tasting and Lunch
The winery SANTA BENEDETTA is the oldest winery of CASTLES ROMANI. You will learn about history and traditions of wine making following by Lunch at Santa Benedetta.
In the afternoon continue the panoramic view of the Castles Romani and return to the hotel.
Day 6 - Rome to Naples by Train & An Afternoon Cooking Class
This morning you will board a high speed train to Naples. It’s a short ride of about 1h15min. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. This afternoon immerse yourself in the Italian culinary tradition and discover authentic local recipes of Campania. Cooking lesson is a perfect choice if you wish to earn a timeless traditional Sorrento classic dishes and improve your cooking skills. You’ll love recreating these recipes again and again when you get home. After the lesson, have a delightful dinner, where you'll taste the fruits of your labor accompanied by carefully selected local wines.
Accommodation - Hotel Antiche Mura
This lovely hotel is in the center of Sorrento and is near public transportation and amenities. We will sty overnight for 3 nights.
Day 7 - Full day to Isle of Capri - Lunch
Amalfi at our stern, Capri at our bow, this morning we sail to one of the world’s most enchanting islands. Situated off the Sorrentine Peninsula, Capri was once loved and visited by emperors, queens and writers. It remains one of the most beautiful places in Italy, with its many caves, a rocky coastline and large plateau. This morning early transfer to the port of Sorrento, where you catch a hydrofoil that whisks you over to the Isle of Capri, the magical and colorful island that has been a favorite resort destination since the time of the Roman Republic. Enjoy a full day guided excursion to the Isle of Capri. Take a break for lunch (included). Savor the seasonal selection of dishes and regional wines focuses on the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. Return to the hotel in late afternoon.
Day 8 - Half Day Tour to Amalfi Coast
After breakfast full day tour to Amalfi Coast with Positano and Amalfi. Panoramic views of the enchanting towns along the scenic Amalfi Coast. Stop at Positano terrace for the stunning view of the town. Then, follow the legendary road overlooking the Mediterranean, to reach the coastal town of Amalfi. In the afternoon return to our hotel in Sorrento. Free time.
Day 9 – Sorrento/Naples – Rome by train
Enjoy your last morning in Sorrento. Early afternoon depart to Rome by high speed train. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Free time.
Overnight in Rome for 1 night.
Day 10 – Rome – return to New York
Depending on your flight time we will transfer you to Rome airport for your return flight home.
